Stranded…

Month 5 of being abandoned on this island I call it, “The Island of Torture” I got stranded on this island when my ship accidentally sailed through a war zone and we were hit by a bomb we were all separated from each other, I think the ship computers were not working. Somehow and luckily I made it out alive. I swam with a wooden board until I found an island, I tried calling 911 on my phone but there was no reception. I started making my shelter with my wooden board I attached it to two trees. I tried to find some food but all I could find were some berries, they were pretty good until my face flared up. I also found a monkey and he became my friend he also brings me bananas, that’s what I’ve been eating for the last 5 months, I’ve tried fishing but there was not a single fish I could catch so I just stuck to bananas. I also wrote a giant HELP in the sand but so far no planes have flown over this island or rescue boats nothing. I’m planning on building a little cottage here to protect me from the harsh weather here but I don’t have the supplies yet. Hope I find safety soon.

The Fumigation

When I was a little kid, I came home from school and started doing my homework, after I was done with my homework I had free time so I was just going to go outside and practice some soccer. I took out the soccer and the goal and started kicking it into the net, and then I saw a giant tent over my neighbor’s house it looked like a circus canopy so I thought there would be people on tightropes in the house, professional jugglers, big crowds, clowns, lion taming, trapeze, knife throwing, magicians, fire breathing all kinds of circus stunts. So I went to ask my parents if we could go see the circus, but they laughed and said there is no circus inside it is just a fumigation. I asked what is a fumigation? They said it was a process where people with proper suits went inside the house to purify and disinfect the house with chemicals to kill the termites and other bugs in the house. Even though that was not a circus I still used to imagine it as a circus.

RAD READING – January

This month I read the book called Ground Zero by Alan Gratz I have not finished reading this book yet; I am currently on page 169, but I have really liked this book so far. It is about a boy called Brandon and a girl called Reshmina after each chapter it goes from Brandon to Reshmina and so forth. 9 year old Brandon is on the 107th floor of the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001 he went to work with his dad because Brandon got suspended from his school for punching a kid in the nose and out of nowhere a plane crashes into the World Trade Center and Brandon and his dad are separated. He got separated from his dad while he was trying to buy something on the lower floor. Brandon gets stuck in an elevator with random people but he manages to get out of the elevator, he has to stick with the random people who were in the elevator to get to safety. Will Brandon find his dad and get out of the building to safety before both the North and South Tower collapse? The eleven year old girl Reshmina lives in a small village in Afghanistan. Reshmina has grown up in war, but she dreams of peace and progress. When a battle erupts in her village, Reshmina finds a wounded American soldier named Taz. But if she saves the American soldier her family can be in danger. Should she help the American soldier Taz and put herself and her family in mortal danger?

I am really liking this book because it is very suspenseful and entertaining it does not get you bored this book makes you want to turn to the next page, I really recommend this book in your reading list. My favorite character from the book is Brandon I like Brandon because he is really brave a quote to prove Brandon is brave is when the book states, “Brandon stood on the broken edge of the World Trade Center, looking straight out into the bright blue September sky. Strong winds whipped his hair around his face, and burning papers fluttered down from somewhere above him. Exposed electric wires sparked in the sheared-off walls.” This quote shows Brandon is brave because he stands right on a broken edge in the World Trade Center where there used to be an office but now that the plane hit the tower it was just nothing just the sky and him super high above the city if I were there I would definitely faint and fall to my death. My favorite quote from the book is when the book states, “Brandon slipped farther behind the big white guy and watched the red digital numbers on the floors tick by. 94, 93, 92, 91, 90, 89, 88, 87, 86 — THOOM. Something boomed above them, and the elevator suddenly went sideways.” This is my favorite quote from the book because this is where all the suspense starts when the plane crashes and everything gets scary and makes you nervous.
